Frequently Asked Questions

What does depression treatment look like at Elevate Mental Health?

Depression treatment combines antidepressant medications (SSRIs, SNRIs, or other classes when appropriate), CBT, and holistic interventions like sleep, exercise, and nutritional support. Care plans are personalized based on symptoms, response history, and patient goals.

Can depression be treated through telehealth?

Yes. Depression treatment can be effectively delivered via secure telehealth visits across Texas. In-person visits at our Round Rock office are also available if preferred or clinically indicated.

How long until I see results from depression treatment?

Response times vary by condition, medication, and individual factors. Some patients notice changes within 1-2 weeks; others may need 4-6 weeks or longer to assess full response. We monitor closely and adjust the plan based on your progress.

What insurance covers depression treatment?

Elevate Mental Health accepts most major insurance plans, including Ambetter, Anthem, BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna, Evernorth, Golden Rule, Optum, Oscar Health, UnitedHealthcare, and United Behavioral Health. We are an in-network provider for these plans. We also offer transparent self-pay rates for patients without insurance or who prefer not to use it.

How much does depression treatment cost without insurance?

Self-pay rates are flat fees collected at time of service. Initial psychiatric evaluation (CPT 90792, 60-90 minutes, includes medication evaluation) is $320. Follow-up medication management visit (CPT 99214, 30-39 minutes) is $200. A 30-minute psychotherapy add-on with the follow-up visit (CPT 90833) is an additional $175 — the combined bundle visit totals $375. Psychological testing (CPT 96136) is $100 per 30 minutes. We accept credit cards, HSA/FSA cards, and ACH bank transfer.

Do you treat depression in children or teens?

We see adults, adolescents, and children ages 6 and up. Treatment approach is tailored to the patient's age and developmental stage.

How often will I need follow-up visits for depression?

Follow-up frequency depends on your treatment phase and stability. New patients typically have weekly to monthly follow-ups during initial stabilization, then transition to every 1-3 months for ongoing maintenance.

Who will I see for my depression care?

Care at Elevate Mental Health is provided by Bonny Petty, PA-C, a Texas-licensed Physician Assistant (license PA07479) with 15 years of clinical experience in family medicine, emergency medicine, and psychiatry. Bonny is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants (TAPA).
